The ACLU says a Louisiana courthouse lobby portrait which includes an image of Jesus is a violation of the supposed separation of church and state, but city and regional government leaders disagree. That's the crux of the lawsuit filed by the civil liberties group, which will be opposed by a Bible-based First Amendment law firm on the defendants' behalf.The portrait hanging in the lobby of Slidell City Court depicts an image of Jesus presenting the New Testament. Below the picture is a message that reads: "To Know Peace, Obey These Laws." According to Associated Press, an unidentified person complained to the American Civil Liberties Union about the portrait -- resulting in a lawsuit against the city of Slidell, St. Tammany Parish, and City Judge James Lamz.
