Gadara Baptist Removed from Schedule

Gadara Baptist Church has called a new pastor. Rev. Jason Nettles will begin this Sunday, June 18th, so this date has been cleared on my schedule. I rejoice that they have found God's man for their church. Gadara Baptist Church is located at 6779 CR 315C near Keystone Heights, Florida.

Online Baby Shower?

Evangelist Ralph (Raphael Adjei Kingbi) and his wife Mavis are the proud parents of a baby boy! He was born at 11:5oam Greenwich Time, June 2, 2006. He weighed 3.2kg (7.05lbs) and is 49cm (19.3in). Doctors said the baby is very healthy.

Mavis is said to be weak but doing very well as she recovers from a mild case of Malaria. She and the baby are both at home from the hospital.

The name of the baby will be announced during a "naming ceremony" this Friday (June 16th). This is the couple's first child.

So, how about an "online baby shower" for this couple? Due to postal & customs regulations it would be difficult to send items to the Kingbi's, but we can wire money to them with no problem. Ralph said the hospital bill alone is around 2.7 million Cedis, which converts to around $300 in U.S. Dollars. That sounds cheap for a hospital bill in the U.S., but it is VERY expensive in Ghana. Of course, there is also all of the normal baby expenses that we have in the U.S., i.e. diapers and clothing. But they have some expenses we would not think of too, for example mosquito netting for the crib.

Evangelist Ralph ministers for the Lord on a full-time basis in the township of Teshie, which is located about 45 minutes from Ghana's capital city of Accra. He also serves as Ghana Ministries Coordinator for James Croft Evangelistic Association and coordinated the crusades and other events during our three mission trips to Ghana, West Africa. He also gives a ministry report each month on the "Walking with the Giant" Podcast. JCEA makes monthly contributions to support his ministry in Ghana.

This Sunday, June 11th I will be preaching the morning worship service at First Baptist Church of White Springs. I will be filling in for Pastor Ron Thompson. The service will begin at 11am and the church is located on Camp Street in White Springs, Florida.

That night, at 6pm, I will be preaching in supply for Pastor Warren Chesser at Forest Grove Baptist Church. The church is located at 22575 NW 94th Avenue in Alachua, Florida.

Please be in prayer for both of these services.

Laws of the Natural Universe (part 1)

Law of Mechanical Repair:

This edition features an interview with Evangelist Bobby Brindle, known as the "World's Smallest Evangelist". I met Brother Brindle (pictured on the right in the photo at left) at the 2005 Little People of America (LPA) annual conference.

The program also has our monthly update from Evangelist Raphael Adjei Kingbi, JCEA Ghana Ministries Coordinator. His wife Mavis gave birth to their first child yesterday while hospitalized with Malaria. We have a very interesting discussion about some healthcare issues in Ghana, West Africa.

During the "Into The Word" section of the program I begin a new message titled "Little People Can Do Big Things For God". This focuses on little people (in this case a child, Samuel) being used by God. Perhaps "Samuel Listened, Do You?" should be the subtitle.

You may have noticed a "small" theme for this edition of the program. This is due to the LPA annual convention being held later this month. I am a member of LPA, as is Brother Brindle. The voice that opens and closes the program each month and introduces each segment is Matt Ray (pictured with his family). Matt has a 3 year old son, Morgan Elijah, that is a "little person". We also met at last year's convention and Matt graciously offered to lend his voice to the program. He is the Director of Creative Services for Cox Radio in Jacksonville, Florida. His voice is also heard on radio & television stations across the United States.
