2 Services + 2 Different Counties = Great Day
I had a great time Sunday worshipping at two different churches in two different counties. I started the day joining some of my family at the 100th Anniversary of Fellowship Baptist Church of Suwannee County Florida. My roots run deep in this church as my great-grandfather, John Taylor, was a founding member. Through the years I have attended many services/events there. In my younger days (much younger) I even made an appearance as "Santa Claus"! I know I'm setting myself up for many comments by revealing that, but, hey, my shoulders may be small... but they're strong. I wonder if there are any photos of that gathering dust in a shoe box somewhere?? Hmmm.... More recently (a few years ago) I had the honor of preaching revival services at Fellowship. I always enjoy visiting the church as the people always sweetly reflect the name of the church - "Fellowship"!!
Pictured left to right are my sister Melissa Ring, my niece Hailey Guynn, my mother Arlene Rich and me, James Croft.
Sunday night I was able to attend my home church, First Baptist Church of Lake Butler, FL. I enjoyed watching our Bible Bowl team take on a team of adults that included my pastor, Jason Johns. Now that was fun!! I won't say which team won the contest, but... we can be very proud of the young members on the Bible Bowl team!! Bro. Jason "redeemed" himself with a great message on the importance of small group Bible study! Very timely, huh? Was I discrete enough with that statement?? Another "Hmmm..."
I thank the Lord for a great day of worship, fellowship, family and fun!!
