Evangelist Graham Seeks to Convert Sudan’s Muslim President

Franklin Graham met with Sudan’s Muslim president Omar Hassan al-Bashir this week and confirmed his aim of converting the leader whom many say is behind the Darfur genocide.

The meeting on Monday night was the second time the son of famed evangelist Billy Graham had met with the Sudanese president.

Graham, who affirmed that he still believes Islam is an “evil and wicked” religion, continued his effort to evangelize Bashir, according to The Washington Post.

"I would like to convert every person I meet," Graham said, according to the newspaper. "I don't want to force them. It's through persuasion."

The two had first met in December 2003 when Graham told the Sudanese president that he wanted to lead him to Christ. Bashir had responded that he wanted to make Graham a Muslim.

Of couse he thinks Islam is evil.If more people converted to Islam. He would be out of a job and there would be no one to buy his books. Why dose he want people to worship Christ the 1st comandment says thou shalt not have any Gods before me. That includes Jesus.
And why would he want to persuade any one into something. Persuasion is a tool of satin.

I was raised in a Christian church, but now I am a Muslim. All I have to say is "Good Luck" Mr. Graham in converting me back to a christian. I have studied both religions very well and I will stay a Muslim proudly till Allah brings me home. Really, how can Mr. Graham call the fastest growing religion in the world evil? What is he doing,is he just going by a few "Bad Apples" who claim they are Muslim? Cause he can't be placing his opinion of Muslims on the people who I know personally and are proud to say are my Brother's and Sister's in Islam. I think Mr. Graham needs to really study and meet real Muslims before he lables us all evil. Besides who gave him that right anyway to call our religion evil? Our religion came from Allah himself. When Christians base their religion on the New Testament which was mostly written by a man who wasn't even born when Prophet Jesus(peace and blessings upon him) walked the earth. As a matter of fact Paul was born ten years after Prophet Jesus (peace and blessings upon him)died and his accounts written in the Holy Bible don't even match from one place to another. The Holy Qur'an is a true book. Muslims also in fact hold both the Holy Bible and the Holy Qur'an in high reguard, because with out the teachings and people in the Holy Bible we Muslims would not have the Holy Qur'an. Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings upon him) was a relative of Ishmael, son of Abraham. And also Islam is talked about in the Holy Bible as the true religion to come. Christianity is not the religion the Holy Bible speaks of as being the true religion to come. Because, if Prophet Jesus (peace and blessings upon him) was telling everyone that the true religion would be Christianity, then he would have been telling everyone to break the First Commandment.Thou shall have no other Gods before me. Do you really think Prophet Jesus (peace and blessings upon him) would break the First Commandment? Because that would mean he worshipped himself if he meant for Christianity to be the true religion. Think about it.

First, let me thank you for your comments on this subject. I think it's great to have a discussion on this issue.

Second, the Old Testament of The Holy Bible is filled with prophecy of the coming Messiah. Jesus Christ is the fullfillment of that prophecy. It's amazing how the Old Testament prophecies provide exact details that are then reported as coming true in the New Testament.

Third, Jesus said in John 14:6-7, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.
7“If you had known Me, you would have known My Father also; and from now on you know Him and have seen Him.”

The verses following these emphasizes that Jesus and the Father are one. First John 5:7 states, 7For there are three that bear witness in heaven: the Father, the Word, and the Holy Spirit; and these three are one.

Again, thanks for the discussion and may God bless you all.
