Our Judeo-Christian Nation

I believe that it is a matter of definitions. If you say that we are a "Christian Nation" and mean that we do not have religious freedom, then of course I disagree. But, if you say that we are "Christian Nation" meaning that the majority of the popluation is Christian, then that is an obvious truth and one that has guided our nation since its founding.

I am an avid reader of the revelutionary era and calling our nation a "Christian Nation" was common during the founding and was never in conflict with the principles of religious freedom. It was simply looked upon as a fact. Most Americans are Christians (about 75%), just like most Americans believe in a democratic form of government thus making our nation both a "Democratic Nation" and a "Christian Nation" by default. Read my last posting at www.tweetsfromgod.blogspot.com to see my full opinion on the matter.

Thanks!
