A Long Life

Rosa Mott & Clarice Witt
Tuesday evening, Mrs. Clarice Witt, a friend of mine and many others, passed away at Baya Pointe Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Lake City, Florida.  She had been a resident of the center for the past few years.  I was sitting by her bed with her son and grand-daughter as she left this world.

Mrs. Witt lived a long life, in fact she turned 100 years old in February.  I got to know her as I would visit my great-aunt, Rosa Mott, at the center.  Aunt Rosie also turned 100 in February, just a few days before Mrs. Witt.  The picture in this post was taken during a combination Valentine's Day/Birthday Celebration for the two ladies.  Aunt Rosie is on the left and Mrs. Witt on the right.

Just imagine the changes these ladies have witnessed in our world and the inventions that changed their world.  There has been a lot of living for them since 1911.

I have been honored by the Witt family by being asked to speak at her funeral on Saturday with her pastor Rev. Rodney Baker of Hopeful Baptist Church. How do you sum-up 100 years of life in a few minutes?  I believe the most important thing that can be said is that, based on her testimony, there was a point in her life when she accepted Jesus Christ as her Savior!

How would your life be summed up in a few minutes?  Have you accepted Jesus Christ as your personal Savior?  It's the most important decision you will ever make, no matter how many years you live on this earth.  If you would like to know more on this subject visit "Do You Know?"

You can read more about Mrs. Clarice Witt on the website of Gateway Funeral Home.

Wow!  100 years... that's a lot of living on this earth... but there's more to come!
