Christmas vs. holiday debate gets contentious at state capitol

MADISON, Wis. - A debate over what to call the festive tree in Wisconsin's state Capitol building this time of year has turned contentious at a public hearing.

State Representative Marlin Schneider asked his colleagues to support his plan to rename the holiday tree the "Wisconsin State Christmas Tree." He said the tree was known as a Christmas tree until wobbly state officials changed its name in 1985.
