Oklahoma City workers can celebrate Christmas again
Christians who work for the local government in Oklahoma City will be able to celebrate Christmas again this year after having been told all religious symbols and observances were off-limits for Christmas 2007.
The memo delivered to Oklahoma City government managers was crystal clear, according to Byron Babione, senior legal counsel for the Alliance Defense Fund (ADF). "About mid-November of 2007, the city sent out a departmental memo that basically [stated that] with the upcoming Christmas holidays ... they didn't want any of the employees to display religious symbols of Christmas in their workplaces," he says.
