The Mayor and the Contractor
The mayor of a village decided to create an additional room in their home.
His wife spoke to the general contractor for some time. They laughed and enjoyed what seemed like a long conversation. Her husband asked what they were talking about. The woman introduced the two men and the general contractor returned to his work.
The husband asked, "Did you know each other?"
The wife replied, "Yes, actually. We were engaged to be married when I was very young."
Her husband smiled and said. "Wow, I guess you should be happy you married me. I'm the mayor. If you had married him, you would have been married to a general contractor."
"No" she replied. "He would have been the mayor."

More Apollo 11 Video
I found a 10 part video series on YouTube about Apollo 11 landing and man first walking on the moon.
This first video follows the actual moon landing.
This video is part 3 and features Neil Armstrong's first steps on the surface of the moon.
NASA has an awesome interactive site to celebrate Apollo 11's 40th anniversary.

Drawing God
A kindergarten teacher was observing her classroom of children while they drew. She would occasionally walk around to see each child's artwork. As she got to one little girl who was working diligently, she asked what the drawing was.
The girl replied, "I'm drawing God." The teacher paused and said, "But no one knows what God looks like."
Without missing a beat, or looking up from her drawing the girl replied, "They will in a minute."

Brave Dental Patient
A man and his wife walked into a dentist's office.
The man said to the dentist, 'Doc, I'm in one heck of a hurry. I have two buddies sitting out in my car waiting for us to go play golf, so forget about the anesthetic, just pull the tooth, and be done with it. We have a 10:00 AM tee time at the best golf course in town and it's 9:30 already. I don't have time to wait for the anesthetic to work!'
The dentist thought to himself, 'My goodness, this is surely a very brave man asking to have his tooth pulled without using anything to kill the pain.'
So the dentist asks him, 'which tooth is it sir?
The man turned to his wife and said, 'Open your mouth Honey and show him...'

Rushing Wind Celebrates Anniversary
Rushing Wind, a Southern Gospel group, based in Macclenny, Florida celebrated 25 years in music ministry on Saturday night. The celebration gospel sing featured music by the group and from special guests Pure Heart of Jacksonville, Florida and His Four of Port Charlotte, Florida. I had the pleasure of serving as master of ceremonies for the evening. The event was hosted by Grace and Praise Ministries Church south of Lake City, Florida.
I remember when the group's leader Jimmy Hartley was with another Macclenny based group called The Kingdom Heirs. After they disbanded he formed Rushing Wind. I've had the pleasure of working with both of these groups dating way back before God called me to the evangelistic ministry. We've also been able to minister together since my ministry began in 1994. I remember traveling to Tallahassee, Florida on an October Sunday morning to preach a homecoming service at New Life Baptist Church. It was to be my first time preaching in that church and I didn't think I would know anyone. One of the first people to greet me was someone I had known for years, Jimmy Hartley. Rushing Wind was providing the special music for the service. Jimmy said, "if we had known you were coming you could have rode the bus over with us this morning." We both had a good laugh when I responded it would have been cheaper for me to ride their bus and saved my gas. Yes, my use of the word "pleasure" is certainly the appropriate description for our times ministering together.
Many singers have traveled with Rushing Wind over the years, many of these went on to sing with other groups, or in some cases to form a new group. One of the musicians lovingly described Rushing Wind as a "spin-off band" referencing how many of it's past members now lead other singing groups. The one constant in Rushing Wind has been Jimmy Hartley; although, I'm sure he would tell you that the Lord has been the "constant" and he has only been along for the ride.
In fact, Hartley stressed in a pre-sing prayer session and then again on stage that the night was all about glorifying God and the hope that a lost soul would be saved. This should be the purpose for every ministry undertaken by musicians, preachers and anyone else called by God to service. To be honest, I think that purpose is sometimes lost in a cloud of "busy" in ministry. I guess what I'm saying is, we can become so busy doing the Lord's work that we forget it is the LORD's work and not our own. We need to always be seeking God's "perfect will" for our ministry and life. If we are in His will, then our ministry focus will be too.
The celebration went well and who knows, we may do it again in 25 years. In the meantime, if you would like more information about Rushing Wind, call Jimmy Hartley at (904) 259-2344.
NOTE: Additional photos from the celebration may be viewed in this Rushing Wind photo gallery.

Boomerang Express Day 5, Tallahassee, FL
We had had a great week of Vacation Bible School this week at Meggs Farm in Tallahassee, Florida. The most important news of the week is that 3 boys and one girl were saved during the week. One of the boys, a 16 year old, was saved on the last day. We had a total of 25 children, 2 years to 6th grade, enrolled for the week. The Boomerang Express Vacation Bible School was a ministry of Chapel Hill Baptist Church. The church had a greaat number of adult and youth workers on hand each day and everything went smoothly, even when we had rain on Thursday. I really had a great time and am greatful to share in this ministry as the Bible study leader, excuse me, I mean as "Boomerang Express Engineer".
You can view photos from this week by clicking the Boomerang Express Photo Gallery image below. The church also has videos from each day online at Vimeo.com. The latest video, from Friday, is embedded below.

Monavie Independent Distributor
On a personal note, I have recently signed-on as an Independent Distributor for Monavie. I began drinking this juice, which contains açai berry and 18 other body-beneficial fruits, including cupuaçu, camu camu, aronia, acerola, blueberry, bilberry, and pomegranate, several weeks ago. I have found that I have more energy. I'm not saying it will have the same result for you, but I know it does contain vitamins and antioxidants that our body needs. I figure I need all of the help I can get with my erratic eating schdule, especially when I'm on the road.
If you would like more information on the Monavie products, nutritional information, or the Monavie bussiness opportunity visit my Monavie site. You can also purchase products and enroll as a distributor on the same site.

Bluegrass At Nahunta Revival
The Wilson Family Band provided special music during the Monday night revival service at Riverside Chapel Baptist Church in Nahunta, Georgia. The video below features a medley of a few songs from the service.
It's always a pleasure for me to minister with this fine family. Robert, his wife Melissa and I go back many years to when I was actively involved in the Bluegrass Music industry. A previous post on this site provides more info about our bluegrass days.
Pictured in the photo are (left to right in back) Pastor Randy Wainright of Riverside Chapel Baptist Church, Robert Wilson, Clint Wilson, Melissa Wilson, (front) me and Katie Wilson. Additional photos from the services are viewable in this photo album.
I posted another medley of songs by The Wilson Family Band in 2007 and it is currently the most viewed video on my YouTube Channel having been played over 20,000 times. I've included this video below for your convenience.
All of the music for the services has been really good. Different musicians are featured each night.
By the way, the services at Riverside Chapel Baptist Church will continue at 7pm tonight and Friday. The church is located at 1998 Riverside Road near Nahunta, Georgia. For more information or directions call Pastor Randy Wainright at (912) 462-5067.

The Children of Israel
"There's something I can't figure out," Little Joey said to his Sunday School teacher.
"What's that, Joey?" asked the teacher.
"Well, according to the Bible, the Children of Israel crossed the Red Sea, right?"
"Right."
"And the Children of Israel beat up the Phillistines, right?"
"Er, right."
"And the Children of Israel built the Temple, right?"
"Again you're right."
"And the Children of Israel fought the Egyptians, and the Children of Israel fought the Romans, and the Children of Israel were always doing something important, right?"
"All that is right, too," agreed the teacher. "So what's your question?"
"What were all the grown-ups doing?"

High Springs Herald Article About Evangelist
NOTE: The April 30, 2009 edition of the High Springs Herald (Florida) has a front-page article titled "A Giant Nonetheless" about my preaching at Hague Baptist Church this week. The article is written by Tara Massagee and includes four photos by Sarah Hsu. The newspaper's online version only shows three of the photos, but allows you to make comments about the article on their website.
Croft uses his height to make big points at church

ALACHUA – Those sitting in the rear pews of the church could barely see evangelist James Croft at the altar above the heads of other church members.
Croft is only 3 feet 10 inches tall, but that does not bother him.
“I would not know how to live as a taller person, he said. “This is all I know. This is how I am. This is how God made me.”
Monday night was the first of a 5-part series of lessons that Croft will be preaching at Hague Baptist Church. There will be a lesson today, Thursday, April 30 at 7:30 p.m. and the last lesson will be Friday, May 1 at 7:30 p.m.
“He’s a little man, but when he preaches, he sounds like a giant,” Church Pastor Sam Brown said. “Brother James is going to revive us some more.”
Croft insists on spreading his message of the Word of the Lord.
Standing at his custom-made pulpit that was half the size of Brown’s, Croft began the revival by telling the congregation to hold their Bibles up in the air.
“Shake them at the devil, because he can’t stand the Word of God,” Croft said.
